How to install templates
1: Quit Apple Motion if running.
2: After downloading the zip file 'mt free templates' (located at top of page), the folder 'mt free templates' will be sitting on your desktop or in you downloads
folder - open this folder.
3: Drag the 'MT free templates' folder into the Apple Motion templates folder, which is located here.
Your HD - Library - Application Support - Final Cut Studio - Motion - Templates
(This is where the Apple templates are stored)
or
Your HD - Users - your user (log in name) - Library - Application Support - Final Cut Studio - Motion - Templates
(The templates folder will only exist if you have saved templates from Apple Motion previously)
4: Launch Motion
go to
menu - File - Open Template - find 'MT free templates' on left - select template on right - click open template button. Start editing the template.
5: Launch Final Cut Pro - there are a few ways to access the templates,
Go to effects tab in browser - master templates - mt free templates - select and drag one into timeline - double click to edit in controls tab in viewer.
or
Go to generators button in viewer and select master templates - mt free templates - select and drag one into timeline - double click to edit in viewer.
or
Go menu - sequence - add master template - this is the same as the Motion window.
Templates can also be opened as a project via menu - file - open.
They will need to be saved as a template to appear in the templates window in Motion and Final Cut Pro.
V4 templates are Motion V4 and will not load on Motion V3 (see FAQ's for a way to open V4 templates in V3)
